Overview

This is a really special and rare piece indeed. A rare vintage and owned by one of Rock(and R&B)  legend  J.Geils himself! He is the leader of J.Geils Band whom gave us evergreen hits such as "Centrefold", "FreezeFrame" and "Love Stinks" amongst many other Billboard Hits!

This is the first year of production for a Gibson J-100. The features on this unique guitar include 16 7/8″ lower bout jumbo body with Adirondack spruce top and very rare mahogany back & sides. Original moustache bridge with individual, height-adjustable saddle bearings, 2 pearl dots on bridge. Scale length almost 26″, bound ebony fingerboard with pointed end, dot inlay, pearl logo, stair-step peg-head shape and sealed Kluson tuners with butterfly buttons. Sunburst finish and an incredible Gibson sound. These were discontinued only 4 years later.

Granted the guitar has seen worst for wear, but what you are getting is not just a guitar, it's truly a piece of musical history. We have left the work on the top untouched as the music legend did. Our luthier would be happy to commence the necessary work needed to make it like new. But, for originality nothing beats it as it is.
