Overview
The size "0" models though smallest of the standard sizing is making a revival amongst acoustic enthusiasts worldwide. Fingerstyle players just love the versatility and ease of play. It may be smaller in size but maintains projection and volume. This is a very special piece of history as it belongs to a very well-known collector and owner in New York. The finish is almost pristine for an instrument of its age. And the openness and hallowed sound from this bird is truly mesmerising.
The Martin Style 0-18 was a mainstay model in Martin’s roster of fine folk instruments – made nearly continuously since 1898 (the first year production records were kept). In the year 1952 Martin made 625 of them. From around that point, production totals for the 0-18 waned, coming down to a total run of only 39 pieces made between 1980 and 1989.They may be uncommon, but they are uncommonly good. Nowadays, players are beginning to once again appreciate and, even crave the phenomenal sounding smaller guitars that were popular years ago!
