Overview

The vintage banner Gibsons are highly regarded by musicians and collectors for their unique build quality and sound. And rightfully so, with it's amazing story and rarity. The Banners guitars spotting the "Only A Gibson Is Good Enough" banner (on the peg head) is made only during the early 1940s during the war. John Thomas the author behind the book "Kalamazoo Gals" writes about how these special instruments were made by women whom were helping with the Gibson factory (whilst the men were helping with the war) became an icon in itself. Every banner is forged passionately with dedication and hopes for better days. And indeed, these instruments withstood the test of time as a testimony of heroic efforts and self sacrifice for one's craft and nation. We salute you!

1942 Gibson J 45 Wartime banner. These old Banners sound like they are amplified when played acoustically, this ones tone is rich deep and loud. The sound alone is killer. It has a fat baseball neck which is thought to add to the amazing tone. No truss rod and none needed, the action is low with plenty of break on the saddle. I do believe this guitar was refinished ages ago, hint the faded sunburst look, but if your looking for that deep dry tone that only Gibson Banner head Guitars provide.
